If your old camper has served you well for many years but is no longer desired, you will need to take steps to get rid of it. Many neighborhoods have restrictions on leaving a non-working vehicle or a camper parked on the street or driveway for more than a day or two, and you dont want to create an eyesore. There are a variety of ways you can dispose of your camper, even if it is no longer in working condition.
Step 1
Donate your camper to a charity. Some charities that take old cars also take campers, though it depends on condition. If your camper is acceptable as a donation, you will be rid of your vehicle, and can claim it as a charitable deduction on your tax return.
Step 2
Sell the camper for scrap. Some salvage yards will take an old vehicle that can be dismantled and sold piece by piece.
Step 3
List your old camper on a community website for sale. Even if your camper is not in working condition, you might find a buyer.
Step 4
Give your camper to a hunter or fisherman friend or acquaintance. Even a camper in poor condition or not usable for camping can be used as a hunting or fishing shed.
Haul the camper to the local dump. If the dump accepts such items, then for a fee you will be able to dispose of the camper.
