Your 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer owners manual describes on page 458 the complete procedure for resetting your tire pressure sensors, and you can do it with no mechanical experience or special tools. You need to reset your tire pressure sensors whenever you rotate or change your tires.
History
Tire pressure sensors are mandatory on all new cars. Congress passed the Transportation Recall Enhancement, Accountability and Documentation, or TREAD, Act in 2000 requiring them. Chevy began in 2006 to phase them in, and by 2007 nearly 70 percent of the companys vehicles were so equipped.
How They Work
The Tire Pressure Monitor System, or TPMS, uses radio and sensor technology to check tire pressure levels. The TPMS sensors monitor the air pressure in your vehicles tires and transmit tire pressure readings to a receiver in the vehicle.
Benefits of TPMS
The TPMS alerts you if your tire pressure is low. The system also allows you to check tire pressure levels using the Driver Information Center in the instrument panel of the Trailblazer. Knowing you have a tire with low pressure can help you avoid a blowout.
