Most vehicles come equipped with a glass windshield, but if you have a race car or an off-road vehicle, you could have a plastic windshield for added protection. These plastic windshields can be made of Lexan or Plexiglass, and because of that, they can get scratched just from cleaning. To fix this problem, you need to polish out the scratches with special products to help keep the windshield looking new.

Step 1

Pour a quarter-sized dollop of the plastic cleaner, polish onto the foam applicator pad, then place that onto the windshield, working it into the windshield in a circular motion.

Step 2

Reapply the cleaner, polish as it starts to dissipate, until you get the entire windshield covered. This will put a haze over the windshield, and thats fine.

Step 3

Polish off the cleaner, polish using a microfiber towel, turning the towel frequently to always have a fresh surface. Make sure youre polishing in a circular pattern.

Look down the side of the windshield, looking for scratches in the reflection of the plastic. If you find any, repeat steps 1 to 3 until all of the scratches are removed.

Items you will need

  • Foam applicator pad
  • Plastic cleaner, polish
  • Microfiber towels
