The 1995 Toyota Camry was the last model prior to a substantial redesign in 1996. Because Camrys built from 1992 to 1995 share so many similarities, the process of removing the factory stereo will be the same. The 1995 Camry has one of the simplest radio mounting setups, making removal a breeze with a few simple tools.
Step 1
Gather your tools and park your Camry in a well-lit area. Unhook your negative (black) battery cable before beginning.
Step 2
Insert a flat head screwdriver into the panel surrounding the radio (the panel has the cigarette lighter plug in). Pry off one side of the panel and pull it off with your hands.
Step 3
Remove the four 8 mm bolts securing the radio. Use a standard socket wrench to remove the bolts.
Step 4
Put your key in the ignition and turn the key to the "On" position to unlock the gear shift. Put your foot on the brake and move the shifter to the "Neutral" position. Engage the parking brake for safety.
Carefully pull the radio from the dash. Unhook the black (antenna) cable and disconnect the blue plastic connection.
Tip
- If you are installing another factory radio, installation is the reverse of removal. If you are installing an aftermarket radio, you will need an installation kit complete with a wiring harness and antenna adapter.
