General Motors released the first Chevrolet Corvettes in the 1950s, giving the manufacturer half a century of experience when it released a new model in 2005. Decked out with a powerful 6.0-liter, V8 engine, the 2005 Corvette was more than just a performance car. Consumers could purchase preferred equipment upgrades such as the 3LT (also known as the 1SB) to improve the value and comfort in this already luxurious car.

3LT vs. 1SB

In other model years, Corvette optional packages were known as the 1LT, 2LT and 3LT packages, with increasing features and price for each increasing number. However, in 2005, Chevrolet split options into only two packages, known as the ISA Preferred Performance Package or the more expensive 1SB. The 1SB is equivalent to the 3LT in other Corvette years.

1SA Included Options

In 2005, the 1SA performance package included side air bags, perforated leather sports seats, cargo net, power passenger seat (six ways), and a luggage shade for the coupe. The 1SB of that year includes all of these features and more.

1SB Options

The 1SB package for 2005 Corvettes includes a heads-up display, dimming mirrors and heated seats in addition to everything included in the 1SA package. Chevrolet also includes convenience options such as power and telescopic steering, a power top for convertibles, a memory package, a Homelink transmitter, an OnStar navigation system, a six-disc CD changer with MP3 jack, XM Satellite Radio and a BOSE seven-speaker audio system. This options package cost an additional $6,270 in 2005.

Engineering Options

Besides comfort and convenience features, some engineering options existed in 2005 Corvettes. Consumers could add performance features such as a 3.15 axle, which cost $395. Consumers could also choose between the standard six-speed automatic transmission and an optional four-speed manual.
