If you have a stove in your RV it more than likely is a three-burner stove that operates off propane. The propane even heats the oven if your unit has an oven as well. Most owners are replacing an oven with a microwave or convection oven due to limited space and to avoid overheating the RV. Some stoves that operate off propane have an automatic ignition for starting the pilot light, but others need to be lit with a match.
Direct Spark Ignition
Step 1
Push the control button on the stove if the stove has a direct spark ignition. It is labeled by the controls for the burners. Turn the button until it starts clicking and the flame should appear. The flame will be blue.
Step 2
Turn the button once ignited until it stops clicking. This controls the gas going to the burner.
Turn to knob for the flame heat desired (low to high).
Manual Lighting
Step 1
Turn the propane on that runs to the stove. Raise the stove top.
Step 2
Locate the spot for the pilot light.
Step 3
Push the control in that says pilot light and hold a lit match over the pilot light hole. Make sure you are pushing the control in at the same time.
Step 4
Hold the control in for 30 to 45 seconds once lit to assure that the pilot light stays lit.
Turn the knob on the stove to the desired temperature.
