The Ford F-250 is part of the Ford Motor Companys Super Duty line of full-size pickup trucks. The 2010 Ford F-250 is available with three engines -- two gas and one diesel engine. To keep these trucks running properly, fluid service capacities must be followed.
5.4-liter Gas V-8
The 2010 Ford F-250 is powered by a standard 5.4-liter gas V-8 engine. This engine requires 7 quarts of 5W-20 motor oil and 25.8 quarts of coolant. Equipped with an automatic transmission, this model requires 17.6 quarts of transmission fluid or 11.7 quarts with a manual transmission.
6.4-liter Diesel V-8
When equipped with a turbo-diesel engine, the Ford F-250 requires 15.1 quarts of motor oil. For temperatures ranging from 32-122 degrees Fahrenheit, 10W-30 motor oil is recommended. For all temperatures below 122, 0W-40 and 0W-30 is sufficient. The cooling system requires 29.6 quarts of fluid. When equipped with an automatic transmission, the Ford F-250 requires 17.6 quarts of transmission fluid or 11.7 quarts with a manual transmission.
6.8-liter Gas V-10
The larger of two gas engines offered with the Ford F-250 is a 6.8-liter V-10 engine. This engine takes 7 quarts of 5W-20 motor oil and 26.8 quarts of coolant. When equipped with a manual transmission, 11.7 pints of transmission fluid is required or 17.6 quarts with an automatic transmission.
