Removing unsightly car wax residue from your vehicles plastic trim pieces can be accomplished in a number of different ways. There are several products available that are effective at removing automotive wax. Simply select one and follow the instructions on the package. Generally, removing wax residue involves applying some of the product to the affected trim area and rubbing in a circular motion with a cloth or chamois, much like putting on wax itself.

No More Residue

Products such as Griot’s Garage Dried-On Wax Remover are formulated especially for this problem. Blackfire All-In-One All Purpose Cleaner is another product well-suited to removing dried wax residue, particularly if it has been on your car for a long period of time. The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, or similar product, is also an effective way to remove dried wax residue. Simply wet the Magic Eraser and gently scrub off the residue using a circular motion. Finish by drying with a soft cloth or chamois to prevent any water spots from forming.
