Contenu

The Chevrolet Tahoe was first introduced in the 1990s as a shorter, more agile version of the popular Chevrolet Suburban and has since become a staple ride for families everywhere. But driving a Tahoe isnt the same as driving most regular cars, particularly when thats all youve driven in the past. Operating the emergency brake isnt difficult and can be done easily once you know how to do it.

Step 1

Pull the vehicle into the area you wish to park and place your foot on the brake. Shift the gear lever on the steering column into the "Park" position.

Step 2

Look down onto the floor and locate the pedal furthest to the left. This is the emergency brake pedal. With your right foot still on the standard brake, push down the emergency brake pedal with your left foot until it stops moving.

Remove your foot from both brake pedals. The emergency brake is now engaged, and the vehicle will not roll. To release the emergency brake, put your right foot on the standard brake then pull the handle on the left, lower side of the dashboard that reads "(P) Brake Release." This will release the emergency brake and allow you to drive freely.
