Polaris introduced the companys first all-terrain vehicles in 1984 as a 1985 model.This provided riders with a new way to enjoy the outdoors year-round, with a recreational vehicle that could traverse every type of terrain in a variety of climates.

Polaris offers cargo racks as standard equipment on the 425. The front racks load capacity is 90 lbs. (40.9 kg); the rear racks maximum load capacity is 180 lbs. (81.7 kg).
Towing Capacity
Equipped with the standard tow hitch, the Magnum 425 has a towing capacity of 850 lbs. (385.9 kg), and a maximum tongue weight of 30 lbs. (13.6 kg).
Engine Specs
The 1995 Magnum 4x4 has a 425cc liquid-cooled engine with a compression ratio of 9.2/1. The 4-cycle, single-cylinder engines bore/stroke is 3.461 inches (87.9 mm) and 2.756 inches (70 mm), respectively, with compression pressure from 60 - 90 pounds.
Fluid Specs
The manufacturer recommends using 2.5 oz. (75 ml) of Premium Demand Drive Hub Fluid for lubricating the front hubs of the all-wheel drive (AWD) vehicles. The engine holds 5.5 qts. (5.2 L) of Polaris 0W/40 Synthetic Engine Lubricant, and requires 2.25 qts. (2.1 L) 60/40 mixture of antifreeze/coolant.
