Contenu
The original Honda Motors was established in Japan in 1946. Honda is currently a global leader in the manufacture and distribution of automobiles, ATVs and motorcycles. The FourTrax 200SX Honda ATV was introduced in 1986 as a sportier version of its predecessor, the TRX2000. This model was removed from Hondas line of products, but many of its popular features were continued and incorporated into the 2001 Sportrax 250EX.
Engine
The overhead twin-valve cylinder block engine is 199 cc. It has an electric starter. The alternator is 123 watts. The engine for this vehicle was manufactured with a rev limiter. This restricted the engine to run at no more than 8750 rpm. The engine assembly is mounted on a double-cradle steel frame in a longitudinal position.
Battery
The battery is rated at 12 volts and 12 amps per hour. It weighs 9 1/2 lbs. The dimensions of the battery are 6 inches by 3.4 inches by 5 inches. The battery mounts on the top and front with box-style terminals. The battery rates 180 Cold Cranking Amps (CCA). A high CCA rating is most important when starting a vehicle during cold weather. CCA measures the number of amps that a battery can deliver for 30 seconds at 0 degrees Fahrenheit without dropping below 7.2 volts.
Weight
The vehicle weighs 335 lbs. It was manufactured to deliver higher power due to its reduced power to weight ratio.
Transmission
The vehicle has a five-speed manual transmission. It has an automatic clutch system. This system allows beginning riders to operate the controls much easier without having to master the use of the clutch and throttle.
Wheel Spacer
Wheel spacers provide clearance between the wheel and the hub (to which the wheel is mounted). For some vehicles they provide enough room to attach larger tires. The wheel spacer on the 1986 Honda Fourtrax 200SX is made from high-grade aluminum. The front spacers are 1 1/8 inches thick. The rear spacers are 1 3/4 inches thick.
