The Chevrolet Silverado comes with a jump seat between the two front seats that is both a center console as well as a slim seat. This is convenient to have in your vehicle, but other models of Silverado have dedicated center consoles that hold more accessories. If you want to remove the jump seat and replace it with a dedicated center console or just remove it to keep the space open, you can do so in about 15 minutes.
Step 1
Pull off the sill plate trim panels on the outside of both seats with your hands.Unbolt the drivers seat using the 3/8-inch ratchet and the specialized socket.
Step 2
Tilt the drivers seat forward and unplug the wiring on the bottom of the seat with your hands. Lift the seat up and away from the truck.
Step 3
Unbolt the passengers seat using the 3/8-inch ratchet and specialized socket. Tilt the seat forward and unplug the wiring on the underside. Lift the passengers seat outside of the truck.
Lift the jump seat out of the center of the truck and out one of the doors.
Tip
- If you cant find the Mac Tools socket SC620B, you can sometimes get by with using a 12-point socket instead.
