The 2009 CR-V came standard with a four-speaker, AM-FM-CD audio system, or an optional system with nine speakers and a remote CD player. Like many late-model vehicles, the 2009 CR-Vs radio has a security feature that requires you to enter a code if the radio loses power, to help thwart would-be car-stereo thieves. Resetting a locked radio on the 2009 CR-V is fairly simple, given you have the code on hand.

Resetting the Radio

Find the radio code card that the dealership included with the vehicle when it was new. If you do not have the card, you will need to go to the dealership with the radios serial number to receive the code. Turn the radio on and "Enter Code" will appear on the frequency display screen. On non-navigation radios, press the preset buttons that correspond to the code on the radio code card, then the radio will start playing if you entered it correctly. On navigation radios, touch the icon to enter the code entry system, then enter the code from the radio code card and touch the "Done" icon to complete the process.
