Contenu

The 2006 Toyota Tacoma is equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system, or TPMS, that uses sensors to track the air pressure in each of the tires. When the computer determines that the pressure in one or more of the tires is too low, a low pressure warnning light is illuminated on the dashboard. It is important to keep the tires properly inflated to ensure that the Tacoma will handle properly and safely. When the air pressure is corrected in the tires, the system needs to be reset so it can accurately track the air pressure.

Step 1

Park the Tacoma on a level area.

Step 2

Inspect the air pressure in each of the tires with the tire pressure gauge. The appropriate pressure is ed on the sidewall of each tire. Add compressed air to any tire that is low.

Step 3

Insert the key into the ignition. Turn the ignition switch to "ON."

Step 4

Press and hold the TPMS reset button, located below the steering column.

Step 5

Release the TPMS reset button after the tire pressure light blinks on and off three times.

Leave the ignition turned on for at least five minutes so the computer has enough time to read all of the pressure sensors. The light turns off after the reset process completes.
