Many models of the Dodge Durango are equipped with a factory-installed alarm system that monitors sensors mounted on the vehicle to detect unauthorized entry attempts. If the alarm has been activated, it must be reset in order to turn it off. The engine will not run once the alarm has been activated until it is reset. The alarm can then be disabled to prevent it from being triggered again until it is reactivated.
Step 1
Press the "Unlock" button on the remote keyless entry device.
Step 2
Insert the key into the ignition. Turn the ignition switch to "ON" without starting the engine.
Step 3
Press and hold the valet/override button below the steering column within five seconds of turning the ignition on.
Release the valet/override button when the security light on the instrument panel stops blinking. The alarm is reset and disabled.
