Contenu

An oil change display light is an important light that informs the driver that the automobile is in need of an oil change. This light is programmed to automatically turn on after certain factors are met, such as mileage driven, temperature and driving conditions. Once the oil change has been completed, the light will stay on until it is reset. Instead of bringing the vehicle into a dealership, you can save both time and money by resetting the oil change display yourself.

Step 1

Insert the ignition key into the ignition and turn it to the "Run" position.

Step 2

Push the accelerator pedal all the way down to the floor and release it three times within 5 seconds.

Look to see if the "Oil Change" light is flashing. It will flash twice to confirm that the system has been reset. If it does not do this, start over with Step 1.

Tip

  • Repeat the steps above if the oil change light stays on for 5 continuous seconds. This means that the system was not reset.

Items you will need
