Key fobs have become popular accessories on vehicles around the world, and there are a number of manufacturers available that offer the technology. Avital is one popular brand that allows you to install a transmitter into your car and program multiple remotes to sync with the transmitter. You can also reprogram the remotes if they have lost the code, need to be reset, or are lost and have to be replaced.
Step 1
Enter your car, leave the drivers door open behind you and insert your key into the ignition.
Step 2
Turn the key to the "On" position and press and release the "Valet" button on the remote one time for your alarm or two times for your trunk.
Step 3
Press the "Valet" button again, and hold it down and wait for the siren to chirp one or two times.
Step 4
Continue holding the "Valet" button and press the button on your remote that you would like to program.
Wait for another chirp, release the "Valet" button and close the drivers door to confirm the programming.
