Contenu
The 2000 Toyota Sienna minivan uses four main mounts for the engine: The front mount, the right mount, the rear mount and a shock-absorbing mount. In many cases, you should never need to service or replace these engine mounts, but youll need to replace a mount that has deteriorated or broken. The rear engine mount is a casting bracket that supports the engines rear insulator and is connected to the chassis.
Step 1
Disconnect the vehicles negative battery cable.
Step 2
Raise the vans front end with a floor jack and support it on jack stands.
Step 3
Place the floor jack underneath the engine at the oil pan and place a wood block on top of the jack. Raise the jack under the oil pan, making sure the block doesnt touch the drain plug, until the Siennas weight is off the engine mounts.
Step 4
Unscrew and remove the through bolt that connects the rear engine mount to the chassis bracket using a wrench. Remove the insulator bolts and remove the mount.
Step 5
Position the replacement engine mount on the engine. Apply a thread-locking compound to the insulator bolts threads and apply them, tightening them securely with the wrench. Apply the through bolt with the same compound.
Lower the engine off the floor jack and the vehicle off of the jack stands, then reconnect the car battery.
