The Jeep Grand Cherokee is an SUV built by the Chrysler Corporation and has been in production since 1993. Although these vehicles are well-built and reliable, they still require minor repairs from time to time. Many of these repairs do not require taking the vehicle into the auto shop and can be completed in your driveway for the price of parts and your spare time. Changing headlights is one such job.

Step 1

Park the Cherokee on a flat surface and pop the hood. Locate the access panel for the headlight assembly behind the burned out bulb.

Step 2

Remove the retaining screw holding the access panel in place and set both the screw and panel aside.

Step 3

Pull out the headlight assembly about 2 to 3 inches to access the burned out bulb.

Step 4

Push the bulb in slightly and turn it to the left to remove it from the headlight socket.

Step 5

Insert the replacement bulb by pressing slightly on the bulb and turning it to the right until it locks into place.

Push the headlight assembly back into place. Screw the access panel back on and close the hood.
