The Opel Corsa, also known as the Vauxhall Corsa, is a vehicle manufactured by General Motors since 1982. Although popular around the world, the Opel Corsa has never been released in North America. The Corsas speedometer allows you to see the speed at which youre driving. A faulty speedometer can be a safety hazard, so if you notice that your speedometer isnt functioning properly, youll need to replace it. Unfortunately, replacing the Opels speedometer requires replacing the entire instrument cluster.
Step 1
Park the Corsa and turn off its engine. Engage the parking brake.
Step 2
Lift up the Corsas hood and disconnect its battery with a socket wrench.
Step 3
Open the Corsas driver side door. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to uninstall the three securing screws underneath the upper portion of the dash panel above the instrument cluster. Remove the dash panel.
Step 4
Remove the four securing screws on the cluster itself using a Phillips-head screwdriver. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry the cluster out of the dashboard.
Step 5
Disconnect the clusters three wiring connections at the rear of the cluster. Remove the cluster from the Corsa.
Step 6
Place the replacement cluster with the functional speedometer into the dashboard. Reconnect the three wiring connections.
Reattach the four securing screws to secure the cluster. Reattach the dash panel and its three securing screws. Reconnect the Corsas battery and close the hood.
Warning
- Since replacing the instrument cluster will also replace the vehicles odometer, you will need to obtain an Odometer Disclosure Form from your states DMV to prevent odometer fraud. You are exempt from this if your Corsa was manufactured more than ten years ago.
