Removing spray paint isnt the easiest task, especially when it is on the inside of your vehicle. Interior spray paint stains cant be power washed off and you dont want to use to powerful of a cleaner because the smell may be intolerable. Here are a few easy ways to remove spray paint from the interior of your vehicle.
Removing Spray Paint From Your Cars Interior
Step 1
Put on your protective eye wear and rubber gloves.
Step 2
Mix a bowl of hot water with dish soap. Use a microfiber towel to scrub the spray paint stain in a circular motion. Dry the area with a towel.
Step 3
If soapy water doesnt remove the stain, try scrubbing nail polish remover on the spray paint with a Q-tip and cotton balls. Wipe it clean with a water damp towel. Dry the area with a towel.
Step 4
If nail polish remover doesnt remove the stain, try scrubbing rubbing alcohol on the spray paint with a Q-tip and cotton balls. Wipe it clean with a water damp towel. Dry the area with a towel.
Step 5
If rubbing alcohol doesnt remove the stain, try scrubbing eucalyptus oil on the spray paint with a Q-tip and cotton balls. Wipe it clean with a water damp towel. Dry the area with a towel.
Step 6
If eucalyptus oil doesnt remove the stain, try scrubbing oven cleaner on the spray paint with a Q-tip and cotton balls. Wipe it clean with a water damp towel. Dry the area with a towel.
If oven cleaner doesnt remove the stain, try scrubbing paint thinner on the spray paint with a Q-tip and cotton balls. Wipe it clean with a water damp towel. Dry the area with a towel.
Tip
- If none of these cleaning methods work, contact your insurance agent to see if you are covered for the accident and can get the spray painted piece replaced.
Warning
- If your cars interior color or paint becomes discolored or faded, do not apply any more of the type of cleaner that damages the material the spray paint is on. Wear protective eye wear and rubber gloves when working with cleaners. Also leave your car window or door open for proper ventilation.
