Mold or mildew buildup inside your car not only looks unattractive, but it can also be a health hazard. Mold can build up under or between seats, near the brake pedals or even on the inside of the cars roof. The best way to get rid of it is by scrubbing the area clean using a peroxide and bleach solution.
Step 1
Prepare your cleaning mixture. Mix the 1/2 tsp. of bleach, 1/2 cup of hydrogen peroxide and 2 cups warm water together in a small bucket or bowl.
Step 2
Prepare your cleaning cloth. Dip one of the cleaning cloths in the mixture and wring it to remove excess solution.
Step 3
Remove the mold. Scrub the mold off the carpet using the cloth until all of the mold has been removed.
Step 4
Dry the area. Use the second cleaning cloth to wipe up any remaining residue or liquid.
Spray the car with air freshener. Mold and mildew often leave behind an unpleasant smell. Spray the interior of your car with the air freshener to get rid of any remaining odor.

- Make sure you clean any mold under a replacement seat cover, blankets or pillows that are on your car seats

- 1/2 tsp. color-safe bleach
- 1/2 cup 3 percent hydrogen peroxide solution
- 2 medium-sized cleaning cloths
- 2 cups warm water
- Small bucket or bowl
- Scented air freshener
