Contenu
Its not uncommon that after years of opening and closing the doors to your Ford F-150 that the hinge pins will wear and one of your Fords doors may begin to sag or perhaps will no longer open and close properly. Damage to your Ford F-150s door may result; even worse, you may end up with damage to your trucks body. Removing the hinge pins on your Ford F-150 isnt time consuming or expensive, and is the first step in remedying your truck door issues.
Step 1
Park your Ford F-150 on a flat surface. Ensure that both the parking break and the emergency break are engaged.
Step 2
Drape the jack stand with an old sheet or towel.
Step 3
Prop your Ford F-150 door open with the jack stand.
Step 4
Place the tip of the punch against the bottom tip of the top hinge pin (the tip is pointing up).
Step 5
Strike the punch with the hammer with enough force so the top hinge pin is dislodged from its location, but not so much so that the Ford F-150s hinge or door sustains any damage.
Step 6
Place the tip of the punch against the bottom tip of the bottom hinge pin (the tip is pointing down).
Strike the punch with the hammer with enough force so the bottom hinge pin is dislodged from its location, but not so much so that the Ford F-150s hinge or door sustains any damage.
Tip
- If necessary, a friend can help steady the Ford F-150s door while its supported on the jack stand.
