The power steering pump is located on the right side of the engine on the 200 Chevy Blazer. The power steering pump in mounted to the engine by four mounting bolts. The power steering fluid reservoir is held in place on the engine by two mounting clips. The power steering pump bolts can be removed with a ratchet and socket. The power steering reservoir and be removed by prying the mounting clips off with a flat-head screwdriver.

Step 1

Open the hood of the 2000 Chevy Blazer and locate the power steering pump. Place the drain pan under the fluid reservoir. Remove the securing nut connecting the hose on the reservoir to the power steering pump. Allow the fluid to drain into the drain pan.

Step 2

Loosen the drive belt on the power steering pump pulley by loosening the nut in the middle of the pulley until the belt is loose. Remove the belt from the pulley.

Step 3

Pry off the securing clips on the side of the fluid reservoir with the flat head screw driver. Pull the fluid reservoir off of the engine and out of the engine compartment.


Remove the mounting bolts from the side of the power steering pump with the ratchet set. Pull the power steer off of the engine and out of the engine compartment.
