Clifford manufactures several different models of aftermarket car alarms. Operation of the alarms is controlled with a 4-button remote control. Since cars are often driven by more than one person, Clifford alarms were designed so that extra remote controls could be programmed to operate the alarm system.

Step 1

Insert the car key in the ignition slot and turn it to the "On" position.

Step 2

Use the "PlainView" switch to enter your valet code. The valet code is a special security code you programmed into the car alarm to further secure your vehicle. The "PlainView" switch is installed on your dashboard or on the center console.

Step 3

Choose the channel on which you wish the new remote control to operate. Your choices are channels 1, 2, 3 or 4. If you have already programmed a remote control to work on any channel, you cannot program an additional remote on that channel.

Step 4

Press the "PlainView" switch 11 times to program a remote on channel 1, 12 times to program a remote on channel 2, 13 times to program a remote on channel 3 or 14 times to program a remote on channel 4. You will hear a number of chirps corresponding to the channel on which you chose to program the new control. For example, if you chose to program it on channel 3, you would hear three chirps.

Press the remote control button that corresponds to the channel you have selected for it. For example, if you chose channel 3, press button 3 on your remote control. This completes the programming feature on your Clifford alarm and it is now ready for use.
