The 351 Cleveland was produced by Ford Motor Company from 1969 through the end of 1974, and became available in 1970. The 351s horsepower varied, depending on whether the engine was a two-barrel low-performance or a four-barrel high-performance engine.
Beginning
The Cleveland, part of the 335 engine series, incorporated the 351 and 400 engine blocks. The engine is also somewhere between a small-block such as the 351 Windsor and a big block. Although the Cleveland was inspired by the small-block, few parts will interchange.
Horsepower
The 351 was available as a two-barrel which was a basic engine and a four-barrel, or performance, engine. The two-barrel was rated at 240 horsepower while the four-barrel was rated at 285 horsepower. All in all, the 351, in general, enjoyed the highest horsepower early in production and suffered lower horsepower by the end of its production era in 1974.

The 351 Cleveland, also known as the 351C, was no longer produced by Ford Motor Company beginning in 1975. Incorporating a bit more horsepower and performance, Ford began production on the 351 Modified, also known as the 351M; this version came with Cleveland heads.
