If a bulb burns out on your Mitsubishi Montero Sport or you want to change the headlights, you will need to remove the old bulb before you can install a replacement. The Montero Sport uses a 9007 headlight bulb, available from most auto parts retailers and Mitsubishi dealerships. There is no need to make a service center appointment to have the bulbs replaced. You can remove and change the headlight bulbs at home in minutes.
Step 1
Raise the hood of your Montero Sport. Lift the support rod to keep the hood open while you work.
Step 2
Disconnect the wiring harness on the rear of the headlight assembly by pulling the connector straight back. Turn the retaining ring counterclockwise and slide it back off the bulb.
Grab the bulb and turn it counterclockwise to release it from the assembly. Pull the bulb toward the engine to remove it from the assembly.
