When attaching wheels to your Mitsubishi vehicle, make sure you are tightening the wheel lug nuts to Mitsubishis recommended wheel nut torque specifications. This is critical for your vehicles safety and performance; improperly torqued nuts can lead to severe handling problems and damage on and around your wheels.
Standard Mitsubishi Cars
The standard wheel nut torque specifications for Mitsubishi cars produce from 1987 to 2010 is 80 foot-pounds. These specifications are for models such as the Galant, Mirage and Lancer. They also apply to the Eclipse models produced from 2000 onward.
Other Mitsibushi Car Models
There are several Mitsubishi cars that have wheel nut torque specifications particular to those models in certain years. These include the Eclipse and 3000 GT produced from 1990 to 1999; specifications on these models are 100 foot-pounds. Specifications for the Precis, produced from 1987 to 1994, are 60 foot-pounds, except for models with aluminum wheels, which are 70 foot-pounds.
Mitsubishi Vans, Trucks and SUVs
Wheel nut torque specifications for the Endeavor and Outlander are 80 foot-pounds. Most pickups produced from 1992 to 1996 have specifications at 100 foot-pounds, while those on models produced prior to 1992 are 85 foot-pounds. Four-wheel drive long-bed trucks produced from 1990 to 1992 have specifications set at 100 foot-pounds. The Raider, produced from 2006 to 2009, has specifications at 135 foot-pounds. Finally, vans, wagons and the Mighty Max all have specifications at 100 foot-pounds.
