All other models fall in-between.

There are several vehicles currently on the market that are comparable to the Dodge Challenger in terms of motor sizes and options, fuel economy and price.

Dodge Charger

The newer model 2010 Dodge Charger is another remake of a classic American muscle car. Famous for its role in the Dukes of Hazard television series and movies, the Charger has a reputation to uphold among American-made sport cars. The 2010 Charger is available with many of the same options as the Challenger, including the same motor choices and gas mileage. The Charger also is available in the more family friendly four-door sedan option and has a lot more options on the low-end models. Chargers base price starts around $24,950 and the base model SRT8 Charger runs just under $40,000.

Chevrolet Camaro

The newly redesigned Chevrolet Camaro reappeared on the market in 2010 after being absent for several years. The 2011 Camaro LS, 1LT and 2LT models are comparable to the Challenger SE models with a 3.6-liter, 6-cylinder motor. The 1SS and 2SS feature 6.2-liter V8 engines. The 6-cylinder Camaros get between 17 and 28 mpg, while the 6.2-liter engine gets between 16 and 19 mpg. The base price for the Camaro is just over $22,000 and can go up to $75,000 for the limited edition 2011 Neiman Marcus Camaro.

Ford Mustang

Ford has been continuously producing its Mustang sports car since the 1960s. The new 2011 Ford Mustangs offer similar options to the Challenger, Charger and Camaro. The Mustang is available in coupe or convertible options, comes with either a 3.7-liter, 6-cylinder motor or the 5.0-liter V8. The 6-cylinder motor boasts a fuel economy of 19 to 31 mpg and the V8 is estimated to get between 17 and 25 mpg.
