Kia has been steadily making improvements in quality in performance throughout the 2000s, and in 2011 it introduced a new, 2.0-liter GDI Turbo engine that it used in its Optima and Sportage. The 2.0-liter GDI Turbo still sees use in the 2014 Sportage and the 2015 Optima in their respective top trim levels.
2.0-Liter GDI Turbo Specs
The 2.0-liter GDI engine is in a DOHC format with 16 valves, continuously variable valve timing and a 9.5-to-1 compression ratio.
