As part of the theft deterrent features included on the 2007 Honda Accord, the factory Accord radio has a lock feature that engages any time power to the radio is interrupted. This is designed to render the radio inoperable if a thief removes it from the car, but it will also occur if you disconnect the battery to perform a maintenance procedure. If the radio is locked, you must enter the unlock code to use the radio.
Step 1
Turn the cars ignition to the "Acc" or "on" position. (Dont start the engine.) The radio should display the word "Code."
Step 2
Press the "Tune" knob and release it. The display should show the number "0." Turn the knob to the left or right until the radio displays the first digit of the code. If the first digit of the code is "0," then you dont need to move the knob. Press and release the "Tune" knob to lock in the first digit.
Turn the knob to select the second digit, then press the knob to store it. Follow the same procedure to enter the third and fourth code numbers. Once you lock in the last digit, the radio will unlock if the code is correct.
Tip
- If you no longer have the security card that came with the car, you can contact Honda to retrieve the code. You will need your purchase information and the radios serial number. Dealers often place the serial number on a sticker inside the glove box.
