Code Systems Inc. makes remote, keyless entry systems for Ford and Chrysler vehicles. By default, when you push the "Lock" button on a Code Systems remote, youll hear the cars horn sound. If you own a Chrysler vehicle, you can disable the remote feedback option through the information center. Unfortunately, if you have a Ford vehicle, there is no option that allows you to do this.
Step 1
Insert the key into the ignition. Turn the key to "On." Push the dash "Menu" button repeatedly until you see "Personal Settings" appear in the instrument cluster screen.
Step 2
Push the dash "Scroll" button to browse through the settings.
Step 3
Stop when you arrive on "Sound Horn with Remote Key Lock." Push "Menu" to change the setting from "On" to "Off."
Remove the key from the ignition. Step out of the vehicle. The horn will no longer sound when you use the remote.
