Jeep has long been a popular brand of vehicle for those wanting a rugged, versatile automobile. While all new Jeep models are designed for toughness, they differ in many important ways.
Seating
The largest Jeep model with the most seating room is the Commander, which has room for up to seven passengers. All other 2010 Jeep models can seat up to five passengers.
Fuel
The Compass and Patriot offer the best gas mileage of the Jeep line, capable of getting 23 to 28 miles per gallon. The Cherokee and Commander are the least fuel-efficient models, getting anywhere from 11 to 21 mpg depending on the trim, or style, of the vehicle.
Trims
The Cherokee and Wrangler Unlimited are the two 2010 Jeep models with the most different trims, at five apiece. The standard Wrangler has the least trims with only three.
Power
The Cherokee is capable of the most power, as its highest trim level offers a 6.1-liter V8 engine with 420 horsepower. The Compass is the weakest Jeep, offering a 2.4-liter engine with 172 horsepower on all trims.
Cost
The least expensive Jeep models for 2010 are the Jeep Patriot, which ranges from $17,795 to $24,550, and the Jeep Compass, which can cost anywhere from $18,720 to $25,135. The Jeep Grand Cherokee at $30,710 to $43,325 and the Jeep Commander at $31,575 to $42,830 are the most expensive.
