A Club Car is a brand of golf cart that can be found at golf courses and retirement communities across the country. As most of them are electric carts, they need to be hooked up to a battery charger on a regular basis, otherwise they wont function the next day. On most other carts, this can be a difficult process requiring disconnecting and reconnecting batteries, but the Club Car comes with a special plug to make the process easier.
Step 1
Open up the battery storage compartment on the Club Car using your hands and expose the batteries. Count the number of batteries in the compartment, and multiply the number of batteries by 12 to determine the system voltage. There are typically either three or four batteries, so this means it will be a 36- or 48-volt system.
Step 2
Search the compartment for the charging plug, which should be easily accessible. Plug in the charging plug into the plug on the Club Car battery charger, making sure the two of them are secure. Select the appropriate voltage on the battery charger for the number of batteries that you have on the golf cart. If you have 3 batteries, select 36 volts, and if you have 4, select 48 volts.
Plug the extension cord into the wall and then plug the other end to the battery charger. Turn on the charger and allow it to run for a few hours until it turns off automatically. Once the charge is complete, turn off the charger, unplug it from the wall, and disconnect the plug.
