A blower motor distributes heating and air-conditioning coolant through your vehicles entire coolant system. The blower motor is an essential component for the distribution of your vehicles heating and air conditioning. The results of a faulty blower motor are poor circulation of heating, no heat and/or lack of air conditioning.
Step 1
Remove the four to six screws from the insulator panel using a Phillips screwdriver. The insulator panel is located in the passenger compartment under the dashboard.
Step 2
Pry the insulator panel apart from the dashboard using a flathead screwdriver.
Step 3
Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor. Stick the flathead screwdriver between the electrical connector retaining clamp while pushing upward to release the electrical connector.
Step 4
Disconnect the blower motor cooling hose from the blower using a pair of pliers. Apply pliers to both ends of the retaining clamp, pressing downward while applying pressure to release the clamp on the hose. Take your pliers and apply pressure on the hose while turning counterclockwise to break the seal.
Step 5
Remove the blower motor mounting screws using a Philip screwdriver. Remove the blower motor.
Reverse the procedure to install a new blower motor.
Warning
- Make sure your engine is completely cooled before beginning this procedure. Make sure you route your hose to a suitable containment unit (e.g., standard plastic container) in order to reuse the coolant.
