Caterpillar is a major corporation that produces heavy machinery and equipment for industrial, agricultural and commercial use. The C12 diesel engine was designed by Caterpillar for on-highway use in vehicles such as buses, large trucks and vans. The C12 is turbocharged and the maximum amount of horsepower that can be achieved is 430.
Standard Equipment
The C12 features crankcase breathers and an electronic control module. The fuel injection system of this engine is electronically controlled to ensure the proper amount of fuel and air make it into the engines cylinders. The C12 also features a hydrualic steering pump and a gear-driven jacket water pump.
