Subarus have adjustable wipers.The wipers can become misaligned for a variety of reasons, including heavy ice or snow that prevents them from moving naturally. They also could be forced out of position accidentally during a routine wiper blade change. Whatever the case, you can adjust your Subaru wipers in a few minutes. The adjustment is made at the base of the wiper arm where the arm connects to the wiper motor.
Step 1
Raise the wiper arm away from the windshield until it locks into a vertical position.
Step 2
Place the 10 mm socket over the retaining nut at the base of the wiper arm.
Step 3
Turn the socket counterclockwise with a socket wrench to loosen and remove the retaining nut.
Step 4
Pull the wiper arm off the wiper motor and orient the arm assembly so that the arm will, when lowered, sit just below the frit band (the black band) on the windshield in its resting position.
Step 5
Tighten the retaining nut.
Lower the wiper arm to the windshield.
