Suzuki, as part of the GS series of motorcycles, produced the 1982 GS 1100GL. The GL, or L, was the cruiser version of the GS series. The standard G was a classic street bike and the GK served as the touring version. In 1982, Suzuki upgraded the GS 1000L to the GS 1100L. The GS 1100L was produced between 1982 and 1984.

The 1982 GS 1100GL measures 90 inches in length, 35 inches in width and 48 inches in height. The wheelbase is 59 inches and the seat height sits at 31.5 inches. The total weight of the motorcycle is 540 lbs. The size of the front tire is 100/90-V19 and the rear tire size is 130/90-V16. The total fuel capacity is 4.5 gallons. The front brake consists of two 295 mm disc brakes and the rear brake is a single 295 mm disc brake. The front suspension uses telescopic hydraulic forks and the rear suspension uses a swing-arm design with adjustable shock absorbers.

Design and Appearance

The L in the GS 1100 GL indicates that this motorcycle is the cruiser variation of the GS 1100 G series. The main cruiser variation of the 1982 GS 1100 GL is the bent back chrome handlebars. The large chrome exhaust pipes flank both sides of the bike. The seat inclines slightly to provide the rider with added comfort and lower back support. The front and rear fenders as well as the circular headlight are also chrome. The 1982 GS 1100 GL was sold in a variety of colors, including black with gold decal stripes, gray and black combination and red.
