The 1994 Chevy Silverado is a full-sized pickup truck manufactured by General Motors Corp. There were two versions of the Silverado -- the C1500 or K1500. The C means the truck is a two-wheel drive and the K a four-wheel drive. Two engines are available in the 1994 Silverado as well as two transmission options.
Engine and Power
The 1994 Silverado came with two different engines, depending on the trim level of the truck. These were the 4.3-liter, V-6 engine that produced 165 horsepower and 236 foot-lbs. of torque, and the 5.0-liter, V-8 engine, which produced 175 horsepower and 270 foot-lbs. of torque. The 4.3-liter engine was available on the regular car, extended cab and Sportside models with 6.5-foot and 8-foot beds, while the 5.0-liter was available on the two- and four-wheel drive, extended cab that features the 8-foot bed.
Transmission and Fuel Economy
The 1994 Silverado came with a five-speed manual transmission standard, but a four-speed automatic overdrive was optional in all trim levels. The truck gets between 14 and 17 miles per gallon in the city, depending on the model, and between 19 and 22 mpg on the highway. The extended cab with four-wheel drive and 8-foot bed gets the least, with 14 and 19 mpg.
Dimensions
The base Silverado, the 4.3-liter regular cab, is 193.54 inches long, 76.96 inches wide and 70.27 inches high, according to Auto123. It has a wheelbase of 117.28 inches.
Features
Anti-lock brakes were standard on all trims of the 1994 Chevy Silverado. Each model of the truck has two doors. The regular cab seats up to three and the extended cab seats up to six. The 1994 pickups have steel side-guard door beams and center high-mounted stoplights. According to New Car Test Drive, the 1994 also saw the addition of steel side-guard door beams and center high-mounted stoplights for added safety.
